MP on Move: Cabinet Approves Infrastructure Developments and Welfare Schemes

In a significant move towards the development of Madhya Pradesh, a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has approved a series of infrastructure projects and welfare schemes.

Infrastructure Developments in Madhya Pradesh

The cabinet has given the green light for the construction of an 8-lane elevated corridor from Kamla Park to Sant Hirdaram Nagar in Bhopal. In addition, discussions are underway regarding the construction of a flyover in Jabalpur.

New Tehsils and Municipal Councils

The meeting also saw the approval of new tehsils and municipal councils based on the Chief Minister’s announcement. These developments will streamline administrative processes and enhance local governance.

Finance Department Proposals

The cabinet also discussed proposals brought forward by the Finance Department. These included a Social Impact Bond and various road infrastructure proposals, aimed at boosting economic growth and improving connectivity.

Land Allocation for Central Government’s Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Ministry

The cabinet is also considering a proposal to allocate land for the Central Government’s Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Ministry. This move will bolster agricultural activities and benefit farmers in the region.

Formation of New Tehsils

The formation of new tehsils in Ujjain, Balaghat, Raisen, and Mandsaur was also discussed. The establishment of these tehsils will improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery.

Establishment of a Textile Park under the PM Mitra Scheme

Under the proposals brought by the Industrial Policy and Investment Promotion Department, there was a discussion on approving the establishment of a Textile Park in the state under the PM Mitra Scheme.

Irrigation Projects

The cabinet also deliberated on several irrigation projects proposed by the Water Resources Department. These projects aim to enhance water availability for agriculture, thereby boosting crop production and farmer incomes.

Additional Proposals for Cabinet Discussion

Other proposals discussed included the creation of municipal councils from gram panchayats, the construction of a high-level bridge over the Chambal River in Bhind district, and an 8-lane elevated corridor in the Bhopal-Indore route under the Hybrid Annuity Model.

Special Backward Classes Welfare

The cabinet also discussed providing financial assistance to women from special backward classes – Baiga, Bhariya, and Sahariya – for gas refills under a scheme aimed at freeing them from malnutrition.

One Stop Sakhi Center Scheme

Finally, discussions were held regarding operating the One Stop Sakhi Center Scheme as per the new guidelines set by the Indian Government. This scheme also aims to provide support to women in need.
