MP Weather: Heavy Rainfall Alert for 18 Districts in Madhya Pradesh

The weather department has issued a heavy rainfall alert for 18 districts in Madhya Pradesh. These districts are Anuppur, Sheopur, Balaghat, Shivpuri, Mandla, Ashoknagar, Seoni, Guna, Pandhurna, Rajgarh, Chhindwara, Shajapur, Sagar, Khargone, Tikamgarh, Khandwa, Niwari, and Burhanpur. Monsoon systems are active in these areas, with thunderstorms and strong winds expected.

Southern Madhya Pradesh will also continue to experience thunderstorms and rain. Cyclonic formations are developing in the Bay of Bengal, northeast and southern Rajasthan. A trough line is also passing through Mandla and Raisen. These systems are causing rain across the state.

By July 9, several cities recorded significant rainfall. Bhopal received 8 mm, Satna 44 mm, Ujjain 13 mm, Khajuraho 40.6 mm, Mandla 22 mm, Narmadapuram 25.7 mm, Betul 42 mm, Guna 21.8 mm, Umaria 19.2 mm, Gwalior 20.8 mm, and Seoni 61.6 mm.

    Temperature records show Narsinghpur and Pachmarhi at 21.4 degrees, Dhar at 23.1 degrees, Mandla at 23.2 degrees, and Chhindwara at 23.4 degrees. Narsinghgarh in Rajgarh district clocked at 36.2 degrees, Prithvipur in Niwari district at 35.6 degrees, Shivpuri at 35.5 degrees, Chitrakoot in Satna district at 35.2 degrees, and Taloon in Barwani district at 35.2 degrees.

    Further, rain in Ujjain brought relief from the heat. However, lightning struck a labourer from Neemach while bathing on the roof of a colony on Indore Road. The worker was taken to the hospital but was declared dead by doctors.
