MP Jobs: Survey Crops and Update Farmer Data Online

A new government initiative will give jobs to youth in Madhya Pradesh and also help farmers with their crops. The goal is to create accurate records of crops. The plan will involve young people in rural areas to conduct the surveys. These youth will take photos and update information on a portal. They will be paid per field for their work.

To participate, youth will receive eight rupees per field surveyed. Only a select number of young people from each village will be chosen for this task. These selected individuals will use a mobile app to complete the surveys. In 2023, a trial was also conducted in Neemuch and Seoni districts. Following its success, the government is expanding the project across the state.

These surveys will be conducted three times a year using the SARA app. Interested youth must register by July 10 to become surveyors. Moreover, they must be local residents aged 18 to 40 and have an Android phone with version 6 or higher.

After registration, they will receive training by July 25. Trained youth will conduct surveys from August 1 to September 15. Supervisors will then verify the surveys. Farmers will have time to submit claims and objections before final approval.

The Commissioner of Land Records has issued letters to district collectors. These letters outline the new system, which bases government scheme connections on accurate field and crop data. Surveys will record what crops are grown in each field during different seasons.

This comes in response to previous complaints from farmers about inaccurate entries by patwaris. These errors have caused issues with compensation and the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. The goal is to digitize crop records for around 80 lakh farmers in 53,000 villages across 52 districts.
